Four Levels of Protection
Owens Corning offers four warranty tiers. Each level builds on the last, with higher tiers requiring more OC components and a certified installer.

Warranty Highlights
TRU PROtection Period | The window of full, non-prorated coverage. Spans 10 years under Tier 1 and extends to 50 years under Tiers 2 through 4. During this period, OC covers both labor and materials for any covered defect. |
Wind Blow-Off Coverage | 15-year protection after thermal sealing, up to 110 mph standard and 130 mph with qualifying installations. |
StreakGuard Algae Resistance | Covers brown-black staining from algae growth. Runs 10 years under standard tiers and 25 years under Preferred and Platinum plans. |
Total Protection Roofing System | Enhanced tiers require multiple OC components working together as a complete system. This integrated approach is what unlocks stronger warranty coverage. |
Workmanship Coverage | Available under Preferred and Platinum tiers only. Covers installation errors made by a certified OC contractor. |
Transferable Coverage | Warranties transfer to a new homeowner, adding resale value and giving buyers confidence in the roof they're inheriting. |
What’s Not Covered
- Acts of God, including hail, wind exceeding maximum covered limits, ice dams, and flooding
- Improper installation not performed by a certified contractor (for enhanced tiers)
- Failure to follow local building codes
- Problems resulting from inadequate attic ventilation
- Normal wear and tear after the coverage period expires
- Modifications or repairs made using non-OC products after installation
- Tear-off and disposal costs under the Standard tier (included under higher tiers)
- Incidental or consequential damages of any kind
